Rates are the wrong tool: fix the fuel supply
The Fed stays put, and the response to rising prices comes from energy policy instead: new fuel supply, reserve releases and relief for the sectors hit hardest.
Reasons
- 1.
Higher interest rates don’t produce more oil or diesel, so they can’t fix a price spike caused by war.
Supports
This shock comes from disrupted supply, not from households and companies spending too much.

- 2.
Releasing reserves or finding new fuel supply lowers prices directly for truckers, farmers and commuters.
